Ann Curry
Ann Curry is an American photographer and journalist who has worked as a journalist for over 45 years focusing on the suffering of people in war zones and natural disasters. Curry covered wars in Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19th 1956, Agana American journalist and television anchor and news reporter. She was most well-known for her work as a reporter on the Today show, a news morning program aired by the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry was renowned for her coverage of human rights issues in war-stricken countries as well as on natural disasters. Curry's father was a naval officer with the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. They met during the time their father was in Japan in the aftermath of World War II. Her father was in the military, and she had to move around often. Curry was able to complete her high school education within Ashland Oregon. She graduated with a journalism degree in 1978 from The University of Oregon in 1978. She was exposed to diverse cultures and situations during her growing up years likely contributed to the empathy with which she approaches issues of international significance. She and her husband travelled to numerous places like San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia. Her final graduation was in Ashland High School. Her journey to an impressive career when she began her broadcasting career as an intern in KTVL Channel 10 in Medford Oregon. She later became the first news reporter female in the station's history at the aged of just 22. In Portland the state of Oregon, she was appointed anchor and reporter by KGW the NBC affiliate. In Los Angeles, she became an anchor and reporter for KCBS TV within four years of having moved into the city. Through the six years she worked for KCBS the station, she won two Emmy Awards.
